ХУДОЖНИЦИТЕ НА НАРОДНИЯ ТЕАТЪР 1904 – 1954
В навечерието на Празника на София,
Софийската градска художествена галерия
представя изложбата
ХУДОЖНИЦИТЕ НА НАРОДНИЯ ТЕАТЪР 1904 – 1954.
Откриването е на 16 септември, вторник от 18.00 часа.
Времетраене на изложбата: септември – ноември 2014 г.
„Художниците на Народния театър | 1904 –1954“ е съвместен проект на Софийска градска художествена галерия и Националния театър във връзка със 110-годишнината от създаването му. В изложбата участват непоказвани произведения (скици, снимки, костюми и др.) от архива на НТ и живописни произведения от фонда на СГХГ, Археологическия музей и Столична библиотека.
Експозицията включва творби на 63-ма художници, които работят на сцената на НТ като декоратори, костюмографи, шапкари, архитекти в периода 1904–1954 г.
Изложбата представлява обзор на оцелялото материално наследство на българските художници в архива на днешния Народен театър „Иван Вазов“. Този архив ни разкрива десетки нюанси от художественото майсторство на живописци като Антон Митов, Иван Милев, Сирак Скитник, Иван Пенков, Пенчо Георгиев, Преслав Кършовски, Цанко Лавренов, Дечко Узунов, Георги Попов (Джон), на колоса на българската сценография Александър Миленков, на авторите Венера Наследникова и Асен Попов.
Това е един архив, който обаче ни дава възможност да се вгледаме в творчеството на десетки имена, които голяма част от изследователите на историята на българското изкуство, с техните „оценки“ за високо и ниско, за значимо и маловажно, незаслужено са пренебрегнали – Андромаха Аргирова, Милка Океанова, Пелагия Видинска, Мария Берова (Хенинг), Миньон Миленкова, Ани Хаджимишева, Райна Ракарова, Страшимир Мачев, Иван Крилов, Тодор Пеловски и др.
В изложбата е поставен и акцент върху едно от световните културни събития през тази година – 450 години от рождението на големия английски драматург Уилям Шекспир.
Експозицията ще бъде съпътствана с редица културни събития като лекции, концерти, научна конференция, театрални спектакли и др.
Към изложбата е подготвен богато илюстриран каталог, реализиран с финансовата подкрепа на Столична община и Министерство на културата.
Част от изследователската работа по проекта е осъществена с помощта на програма „Студентски практики“, в която участват студенти от Националната художествена академия и Нов български университет.
Екипът на изложбата благодари на Държавна агенция „Архиви“, Национален музей за българско изобразително изкуство, Национална библиотека „Кирил и Методий“, Национална художествена академия, Съюз на българските художници, Столична библиотека и др.

Е&PDE’14 conference Design Education & Human Technology Relations
The 16th International Conference on Engineering and Product Design Education, hosted by the Faculty of Engineering Technology of the University of Twente in Enschede, the Netherlands is organised in partnership with the Design Education Special Interest Group (DESIG) of the Design Society, and the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED). The conference brings together representatives from education, design practice, industry and government agencies that have an interest in developing new approaches and directions in design education. The conference provides a forum for participants to discuss current educational issues and to identify new approaches, address new challenges and shape new directions for design education.
This year’s conference theme emphasises the influence of technology on human behaviour and vice-versa. The conference aim is to reflect on the bipolarity of the challenge that contemporary designers and engineers face when shaping our future, because the development of new technology cannot be meaningful unless there are users that successfully adapt the products and services to their own lives. As a result, it is important that design educators explore interrelationships between engineering & technology, and behavioural, societal, cultural & ethical issues.

Imminent deep changes in the way men organized and design the physical environment demand to architects and to all the disciplines involved to adapt theoretical, methodological and practical new knowledge in order to improve the quality of our environment.
PHD Students, Master Students, Professors and Research Groups are invited to send abstracts for this conference in Barcelona, before the 31st January 2015.
Later on, in October 2015, the full papers will be included in the web www.arquitectonics.com and a selection will be published in the International Journal Arquitectonics.
The three settings for research where the design based upon knowledge will be developed are:
The educative setting, the professional setting and the social setting, they will include works where the relationships between critical theories, methods and practices are relevant for the environmental dimensions of the human life.
The diagram included here is a very condensed organizational of the nine topics of the conference where educational, professional and social participation papers are classified in the three categories of: theory and practice, evaluation of knowledge (assessment), and production of knowledge. Interdisciplinary orientations will be appreciated.
A brief description of the nine topics follows. (See www.arquitectonics.com for more information and also the following publications: International Journal Arquitectonics, Critical Spaces, IAPS Publications, First International Conference on Gaudí (www.gaudicongress.com) publications from the ENHSA and EAAE networks, etc.)
In order to have a better definition of the architectural knowledge, analyzed by Aristotle as a “practical wisdom”, or “phronesis” it is necessary to study the theoretical, methodological and
practical conditions of this “phronesis” in education (topic 3), in the profession (topic 6) and
modernity and tradition in planning (topic 9). Of course the three perspectives are tied together, but the conditions are different. Then in education (topic 3) questions are related to the way interdisciplinary knowledge are tied to design and the way architecture is taught of the university. In the profession the study of theories and practices should analyze the work of architects such as Steven Holl, Peter Zumthor or Rem Khoolhas, etc. that made a huge effort in order to explain design form practice to theory and form theory to practice (topic 4). And topics 7 and 9 are related to new theories, methods and practices in planning such as the Alberto Magnaghi proposition (Territorialisti in Florence: www.societadeiterritorialisti.it) or to the new strategies for renewal of the historical heritage.
The three topics, 4, 5 and 6, about evaluation, assessment and sustainability point to the study of built environments, schools or urban and landscape environments, in order to analyze if the results follow the expectations. They are post‐occupancy and include not only the university level but the children participation in planning (Friendly Child Cities, web: ciudadesamigas.org) as well as high school or University experiences. In profession and in social participation experiences, the post‐occupancy research includes assessment procedures for the evaluation of buildings and public spaces after construction and planning.
In relation to the three topics 1, 4 and 7, devoted to the “production of knowledge” in education, the profession and planning, it is essential to analyze the work from within the professional studio (interdisciplinary or not) the educative institution or the social setting of planning participation, both in the past and today, and to show how “knowledge” is produced inside the practical processes in detailed fashion. It is very important to realize that.
So the three first topics 1, 4, 7 define knowledge produced “inside the practices”; the topics 2, 6, 8 define knowledge “after the practices” and the three last topics 3, 6, 9 want to propose a better relation between theories, methods and practices in the different settings. They act “before practices” in order to innovate them but in a close relationship with all the other topics.
